Tips


Step 1:  Make sure you received an email invitation from the Teacher Excellence Initiative (TEI).  Please contact TEI if you are not sure if you are eligible to apply.



Step 2:   Print and study the Distinguished Teacher Review Application Rubric (click on "Resources"--->"Distinguished Teacher Review (DTR)"--->"2017-2018 DTR Rubric" on the TEI website ).



Step 3:  Jot down your accomplishments in each category.  Score each accomplishment according to that section of the rubric.



Step 4:    Brainstorm other accomplishments that better match the highest points on the rubric.  Only include your strongest accomplishments on the application.  Think quality versus quantity. And think through the eyes of the rubric.
